Happy "Pretend" Birthday Jacob !

Because Jacob's birthday falls right after Christmas (6 January), and usually at that time everyone is away on holidays, we started a tradition of celebrating a "pretend" birthday! We usually have a party sometime in early-mid December, and make sure all his good friends can make it. Well today was the day...

We took 13 friends plus Jacob to Clown Town (an indoor play centre). It was really good, and I think the kids all enjoyed themselves - they certainly had very red faces from all of the running around! Jacob had the "Island Room" for his party, and the kids were treated to an entertainer who did magic tricks and juggling! All the kids had a go at the rock climbing too! Jacob was like Spiderman. I couldn't believe how fast he was able to climb the wall. He must have amazing upper body strength, because sometimes he didn't even use the pokey out things on the wall! Anyway, a very good day, no mess to clean away and lots of lovely pressies too. Happy "Pretend" Birthday Jacob!

Wow looks like you guys had fun. I love your pretend birthday idea - being a child who has missed out on lots of birthday parties myself as mine was always in the july school holidays. So totally dig the idea.
